A blogging service with an email list

Back a few years I was part of putting together a blogging service with a built in email list. We called it Rifr.com. The insight was that it’d be easier to write if 1. people would read it and 2. it was easy to get tidbits of stuff in an editor to write about. So we built that.

For a series of reasons, that product no longer exists. Ugh. But, Substack does.

Over the last few months, and with pushing from friends, I’ve been writing about the process of building vivront.com via the tools at josephrueter.substack.com. It’s been wonderful to get a hands on sense of the impact a publishing cadence can have on creativity and idea making.

Also, one of my friends just hit 1000 on his substack subscriber list. I’m going to keep at it.
